We Are What We Believe We Are

We are what we believe we are.

Yes, CS Lewis said it first but this phrase has stuck with me since I was in middle school and has been used multiple times – sometimes to pick my spirits up and sometimes others around me. Nothing could be closer to the truth; I am where I am because I believe in all possibilities. This has been one of the guiding principles of my leadership at Edcor too. Our tagline “Think Edcor. Think Possible” beautifully sums up the ideology.  My vision for Edcor is not to be the biggest, but the best in all we do. We believe in excellence and hustle to achieve it day after day. Our past has been a testimony to this fact.

Much like you, I am caught by surprise when I realize we’re in the last month of 2023, but this also makes me reminisce about our accomplishments during the year. We introduced some high-value offerings to our Tuition Assistance service line this year.

  • First, we reintroduced our Debt-free Degree Program. Our program was about 8 years old, and one of the biggest ones, with many clients already taking advantage of it. It was redesigned in 2023 to help Client employees fill the skill gaps by obtaining college degrees as well as stackable certificate degrees to make it more holistic based on the latest trends in Higher-Ed. It gives me immense pleasure to let you know that we have 200+ Live Programs for 50+ Clients. Admittedly, some use the program more than others but many are now realizing the value of it and the importance of choice that we offer within this program.
  • Second, Edcor in partnership with Pearson Accelerated Pathways introduced credit-earning and stackable Graduate certificates as part of a path toward earning an advanced degree. In line with the educational trends, these programs offer a chance to acquire specialized knowledge and work on improving the skills needed for a career in a specific field. All courses are instructor-led, 8-week long, and 100% online ensuring that they fit into the busy lives of all working professionals looking to propel their careers. The feedback on these has been very positive from our Clients with many implementations underway.
  • Lastly, we crafted Edcor’s Critical Pathways Program that caters to the workforce development needs of organizations keeping in mind the critical junctures in each working professional’s career trajectory that require momentum only education can provide. The focus of the program is on the completion and transfer of learning back to the job leading to a higher ROI. The program also helps organizations in workforce planning and building talent and leadership pipelines through learning and development, all while retaining and engaging their high-performing workforce.

Not lagging, our Freedom Student Loan Repayment Assistance and Scholarship Administration services line saw exponential growth owing to the cutting-edge technology, tracking, metrics, and reports, and above all the hand-holding and customer service that we provide to the end users.  Our Freedom program created a strategic incentive that helped in attracting and retaining top-tier talent especially as the Student Loan moratorium came to an end and many corporate employees were looking out for employers who cared about their financial wellness. Scholarship Administration provided the much-needed competitive edge especially in the Healthcare sector to retain and recruit populations that weren’t using the Tuition benefits or to mitigate the high cost of tuition in this realm.  Overall we are very happy with the way this year played out, but there’s definitely a long way to go before we get content with our efforts.

We are a women-owned small business in Troy, Michigan, but our aspirations, dreams, service, and competence are unparalleled. Each member of the Edcor family has the spirit of Customer Service running through their veins and knows that excellence is a standard at Edcor.  Even though it’s clichéd it’s true – Teamwork Makes the Dream Work. I firmly believe that we succeed as a team. Each member of the Edcor family, whether they are directly engaged in customer interactions or support functions, plays a crucial role in our collective mission. This collaborative spirit is what sets Edcor apart. It’s the reason behind our consistent track record of delivering exceptional service and achieving customer delight.

Like all other years, it’s the time of the year when we’re in the Busy Season at Edcor and also the Season of Giving. We deeply believe in community service and contributing to organizations locally. This year too we supported local charities like the Daisy Project for families with special needs, Michigan Animal Rescue League, Food Drive at Gleaners, Lake Orion Musical Band, Regina Catholic High School, and more. We continue to encourage Edcor employees to participate in volunteer work with our volunteering time off benefit because we believe that every single act of kindness makes a difference in someone’s life.

I take this opportunity to thank everyone for believing in us and for another wonderful year of hard work and meaningful collaborations.
