Meet Learners Where They Are with Academic Advising
Investing in your employees goes a long way for recruitment and retention, and education benefits help you inch closer to those goals. In alignment with this thought, Edcor has also been a strong proponent of being strategic about education benefits and having a ‘holistic’ education benefits strategy that includes more than one education benefit, like Student Loan Repayment Assistance or Scholarship along with Tuition Assistance, to cater to employees in all stages of a career ladder leading to a solid retention strategy. That’s a topic for another time, for now let’s focus on the learner.
Without a doubt, higher education is perceived as a gateway for career advancement and better financial opportunities in today’s competitive landscape. However, for many working professionals, going to school can be daunting because of the complexities of navigating educational systems and balancing personal and professional responsibilities. I can’t imagine the pressure of managing these aspirations alongside uncertainties about credits, courses, and college choices. So, to help learners overcome these challenges Edcor offers Academic Advising as a complimentary service with Tuition Assistance. It’s all about an individual’s journey and their goals – alongside it saves thousands of dollars for the employee and the employer.
At Edcor, Academic Advising is a cornerstone of support that addresses the core elements of student success and is designed to support learners at every step of their academic journey.

CEO’S CORNER

The panel discussion at SHRM ’24 on Strategic Upskilling: Fueling Retention in the Age of Innovation was a massive success with more than 300 people in the audience and many others attending it online. Even though it was heavily centered on organizations upskilling frontline workers with GED, I did provide my insights on the importance of having a well-rounded education benefits portfolio that includes Student Loan Repayments and Scholarships in addition to Tuition Assistance to cater to employees in all stages of their career leading to a solid retention strategy.
The importance of Academic Advising was highlighted especially for first-generation college goers and adult learners who find it hard to navigate the educational landscape without support. Academic Advising provided by Edcor – in partnership with Pearson – provides learners with the handholding they need to navigate academic requirements while empowering them to effectively achieve their educational and career aspirations. By offering personalized guidance, leveraging cutting-edge technology, and measuring tangible outcomes, we ensure that every learner receives the support they need to succeed in their academic and professional endeavors.
